ECO-FRIENDLY RALLY

As a part of EMBRACE NATURE 2016, PG Department of Commerce and Management Studies, Extension cell and ED Club jointly organised a rally and awareness campaign on July 15, 2016. The rally was conducted with the aim to create an awareness among the people to say good bye to plastic items and use eco friendly items. It was an innovative attempt by the students of ED club to promote Green Marketing.
The campaign resolved to motivate the public to reduce the use of plastic carry bags and ensure the use of cloth bags. Many student volunteers and teachers actively participated in the rally. The Green Rally was flagged off from Perumpilavu Centre with a popular caption- “LOVE GREEN, EMBRACE NATURE” by our Principal Dr.P.K. Yaqoob at 9:30 am. The meeting points of the rally were arranged at Akkikavu, Karikkad, Kallumpuram, Nayadi colony and Ansar Women’s College campus.
Students took an initiative to remove plastic wastes from Nayadi Colony and cleaned the area. Eminent personalities were assembled at each meeting point and the student representatives made awareness talk at each meeting centres for the public gathered there. At Perumpilavu, Dr P.k Yaqoob, Principal Ansar Women’s College, Ms. Suniya, HOD, Department of Commerce and Management, Ms Noushaja, ED Club co-ordinator shared their thoughts on leading a plastic free life and the growing importance of the use of cloth bags. Every individual should be bothered about their role in the society and the rally ended with a note on upholding the importance of promoting an eco-friendly life and green marketing.
